Compote Flower Arranging Class! This summer’s Compote Flower Arranging Class will be on Thursday, July 18, from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. You can bring your own compote vase or you can purchase one from us for $20 – $50, depending on what you would like. Flower arranging on a flower farm provides you with ample flowers, beauty of nature all around you and instruction on how to create your own flower arrangements. You will go home armed with a beautiful bouquet that you have created and the knowledge to use on your own vases at home to create beautiful flower arrangements, without the deadly “Flower Oasis” or foam. Being an organic farm that cares about the birds, bees, and butterflies, I knew that using the green Oasis was not ok because of how it does not decompose, but breaks apart into small particles in the water of streams and lakes. We do know that it is not biodegradable and that it contains known carcinogens. The material itself is called phenol-formaldehyde foam, and it’s one of the oldest types of plastic. It’s made by reacting phenol and formaldehyde to produce the plastic. With this being said, I will introduce you to other flower supports that can be used over and over again and have no known issues with polluting our bodies of water.
Must have minimum of 6 students or class will be cancelled and money refunded.
